"CELEBRATING THE DIVERSITY OF JAPANESE POP CULTURE!Singapore, 03 September 2008 – For the first time ever in South East Asia, Singapore will celebrate the diversity of Japanese Pop Culture.Taking place on the 22nd and 23rd of November 2008 (Saturday and Sunday) at the Suntec International Convention and Exhibition Center, Anime Festival Asia 2008 (AFA08) will showcase a wide array of Japanese Pop Culture related content, spanning over 5,000 sqm of space with 6 experience zones: Akiba Town, Anime Live, Anime Blockbusters, Industry, Mangaka and Planet Mech, where visitors will gain access to exclusive content, merchandise and live acts straight from Japan.
The festival targets children, youth, adults and industry visitors both locally and from around the region – with an expected turnout in excess of 80,000 visitors.
Anime Festival Asia 2008 (AFA08) is organized by I-Promo Events & Marketing in partnership with Dentsu Singapore. AFA08 is sponsored by Bandai, Japan’s leading toy manufacturer, with Animax as the official regional media partner.
The festival, made possible with support from the Embassy of Japan and the Japan Foundation, will be attended by directors, producers, manga artists and creative individuals from Japan’s entertainment industries.
The festival is a pre-event introduction for the Japan Creative Centre that is scheduled to open next year in Singapore. The Japan Creative Centre’s primary objective is to be a platform for showcasing Japanese-related content and culture in Singapore.
AFA08 will also provide an opportunity for international businesses and anime–related companies and organizations to network and participate in the fair. As interest in the Japanese anime industry increases throughout the world, this trade fair provides businesses and companies in South East Asia an opportunity to preview the latest anime content from Japan.
“Anime Festival Asia will be an exciting experience for everyone in the family! There is a program-packed line-up at “Anime Live”, where activities on stage will include an exclusive premiere of an anime short from “Genius Party Beyond”, the latest anime feature movie from Studio 4¡C. AFA08 will also have character appearances, music performances and competitions of all kinds related to the anime industry. There will also be live talk shows where anime enthusiasts can meet the creators of their favourite anime. Manga fans will also have a chance to enter the world of the artist with a display of never before seen sketch arts in the “Mangaka” zone. “Planet Mech” will appeal to robot fans who can get up close and personal with a Gundam Seed Destiny diorama display; and the list goes on,” said Anthony Kang, Chairman, Dentsu Singapore and Chairman of AFA08.
“With Japanese Popular Culture in South East Asia currently undergoing tremendous growth in popularity, there is definitely a need for a global platform like Anime Festival Asia to showcase Anime related content in this region, much like the ‘Tokyo Anime Fair in Japan, and the ‘Anime Expo’ in the US. We will showcase exclusive footage, artifacts and creative scene materials such as storyboards, character and prop designs at ‘Anime Blockbusters” where fans can go ‘behind the scenes’, ” said Richard Tan, Executive Director of I-Promo Events & Marketing and Festival Director of AFA08. “We also have an ‘Industry’ zone to provide youths who are considering a career in the anime industry a chance to find out more about their opportunities, and there will be a business track for companies in the industry to learn more about content development and distribution,” added Tan.

Just another short update... xD
ACGC was ok. Not a big-scale event like GACC or CF... ONly managed to go yesterday. I didn't expect much and not many cosplayers too (but I think today will be more since there's a cosplay competition)... And I remember clearly dat a photographer was grumbling loudly at the hall entrance about "where are all the cosplayers???"
I didn't cosplay in the event. Just went around meeting some ACG friends and such... Quite disappointed with the games they trying to broadcast here. Most of the games are in Chinese! Poor us bananas and non-chinese who cant even read them or worst, understand a single word!
Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS was the main attraction there. But the main theme was Wii Fit... Boring games but it helps you keep in shape though...
Sad to say that I almost went home empty-handed if it's not for anime-tech. Bought Evangelion 1.01(finaly got to spell and pronouce it correctly!) and watched it this morning. Not a bad show... Graphics was really nice. I love the battles the most. It seems like its a tradition to have a full/half/full-but-misty naked scenes in ACG these days. But compared to yaoi... I guess those are pretty mild... xD
The story's about a guy being forced (but later accept it) to pilot a mecha (or some people prefer to call it gundam) to defend humanity from extinction as 8 Angels (yes, angels tha kills but the anges are not human like though...) came and destroy the only city that still standing.
Sounds pretty familiar? Sounds like Soukyuu no Fafner (all monters attacking one place only, only the young teenagers can pilot the mecha, uses nervous system and the brain signal to control the mecha, and the pilots are to be submerged into a cockpit filled with (red?) liquid to ensure oxygen gets into his/her bloodstream faster)...
But Evangelion is already existed in 1994. It's normal to see animes with familiar plots especially mecha and shoujo animes Mecha mostly about humanity while shoujo about romance and those lolis with their high-pitch screamings around (sorry to say that I'm not an avid shoujo fan here)... But of course, with continuations, the show always left the viewers ponders on whats going on next.
Too much discrimination spoils the joy of watching/reading anime/manga. Just read according to the flow. Expecting too much brings the grade down. Different people have different taste. You be the judge...

I'm pretty stupid to actually accidentally delete my whole file of Kyouran Kazoku Nikki series. But this is when a friend comes to the rescue. Tsubi/Shie Yunn burn the show to me! Thank you so much! *muacks*
This show was pretty light-heartening. (I'm more towards funny+gags stuff or pretty serious plots)

I miss the city.. The malls.. the movies.. n most importantly.. MY BED!!! JK.. I miss my fmaily back at home.. ><; THough I'm an independant kind of person.. Family are hard to miss... Especially when they r involved in ur life A LOT...

GACC Day 1&2I'm going to keep this post short. Mu fu fu fu... I didn't enjoyed the event to the fullest as I'm sick during the whole event. :___;
Let see. Apart of being late n almost bombarded by Hito-uke n Tsubi on the 1st day, I didn't get to get Masakazu Morita's signature... ;____; Oh wells, at least I do have a nice memory with him. *wink wink* I almost knock down the seiyuu while his way back to his when I was in a hurry. xP *runs away from angry fangirls* The seiyuu is quite lively, chatterbox and nice guy too (+cute!)

Hiya guys!!! Sorry for not updating my blog after a long long long long time.. ^__^ I was so 'bz' doing my props for cosplay for CF last weekend... And now with PS2 in my hands n Persona3 game is so addictive.... I CANT FIND THE TIME TO ON9 ANYMORE!!! XD
Day 1: Finally cosplayed Genjyo Sanzo. Curse the colour hair spray to finish up that fast... Or else I'll be a complete n smexy Sanzo (according to an unkown person which I can't remember) cuz I was wearing the half robe. Thanks to the bandage to held up my breasts, my chest was completely flat or look more muscular cuz of the breasts.. Ke ke... Finally got to meet my husband too! AKA as Hakkai on both days but different version. My dear son Goku last minute only comfirm doing Goku too.. sigh... One thing really sucks bout CF this year is the stupid rules set up by stupid staffs n the hot n crampy hall... >>
Day 2: Cosplaying Haruhi Fujioka again. I cancel my Shigure cosplay cuz of personal reasons n I didn't regret doing that cuz I get to meet my SUPER DUPER KAWAII HANI-SENPAI!!! He's only 8 n he's Deidara's little brother. He's so cute n so attached to me~~ I feel like I'm on cloud 9... <33

I have 2 good news to say.
1st is I PASSED BOTH MY MOTOR AND CAR TEST ALREADY!!!! Which means by next week you'll c me driving on the road! WEE!!! THE BLISS!!!
2nd is I'm going Comic World and get my 3rd costume for this year (I overspent this year.. XP) TOMORO!!! Thank god I follwed my intincts of not going COmic World today cuz I got to talk to my HUBBY!!! aka Tzezumi. MY ZUM ZUM!!! <33

I'M GONIG TO BE BLIND SOON!!! My blurness of 200+ from last year increased to 400+ THIS YEAR!!! I'm so dead! I asked the optician what happened to my eyes. He replie saying it's puberty. By the age of 22, it won't increase that much. But I do think before I even reached 22, I'M BLIND!!! T____T These days I've been having constant headache and pain in my eyes. I went to an eye specialist doctor for a check up yesterday. He says nothing wrong but if the problem still persist, I was adviced to consult a neurologist. When he said that, I thought I HAVE A BRAIN TUMOUR!!! *dies*
3 days ago was my best friend, Sim Bee's birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! She got her favourite present which is an anime related puzzle. 1000. Hopefully she could break my record. >D.
Yesterday,
In the afternoon, when i was taking a nap. I dreamed bout a pianist WHO LOOKED EXACTLY LIKE ABEL KNIGHTLORD!!!
That night, I dreamed I was sleeping in Hiroki's arm. Weird dreams always occur. What is my brain trying to tell?!? Is it trying to make fun from me?!? *bangs head on the wall*
Today,
I've received the news that MY SANZO COSTUME IS DONE!!! Now I left is the black turtle neck shirt. Can any one tell me where to buy?

My ten days of diary = I'M BORED TO DEATH!!! XDD Well it's not really my life was really that bored. I do have some interesting events happened in my life. As you noticed did not update for quite some time and My com was hospitalized for 4 days. XD.
ON the 19th, it was Pei Yin's Bday. Imagine her face when she received her bunny ear present from me and Sim Bee. XD.
ON the 20th, I finally have my BM oral done! I screw it off by reading the whole TEXT!!! oh wells.. XP
ON the 21st, My com broke down. No choice but to hospitalize it on that day.
ON the 22nd till yesterday, I filled up my free time by catching up some sleep. To ACG friends, NEVER EVER WATCH SHAGUKAN NO SHANA!!! THE ENDING SUX! THE STORY SUX! Would have been better if it's a sad ending like Yuji and Shana parted or Shana really died in Alastor's FIRE!!! But I love the art nontheless! XD
Today, my com is alive and I'M ALIVE AS WELL!!! XDDD I'm addicted to my com as you can noticed.. XDDDDDDDDDDD. Oh yea, LONG LIVE OUR NEW KING OF M'SIA!!! Our 2nd youngest king in history! OU-SAMA BANZAI!!! 8feeling a little over patriotic than usual* XD
Plans ahead: Finish my oral by tomorrow, decide to go or not to go for HELP's ACG convention and MAR outing.. hmm...
